Breeding

We've had the privilege of knowing many different hobby-breeders as well as professional handlers in cocker spaniels as well as many other breeds. In support of plaguerism, we enjoy the opportunities to learn from their experiences and adapt their ideas into our program when we can. When considering a breeding, we always keep the following quotes in mind:

  1. When planning a breeding, don't breed for this generation or the next, but THREE generations out.
  2. The most successful line-bred litter is when the sire of the sire is the grandsire of the dam.
  3. A sign of a successful breeding program is when everybody hates to see your dogs show up ringside.
